Interviewing Techniques
Speaker (Day One): Mark Nigrini, P.h.D. was formerly on the faculty at the Cox
School of Business at Southern Methodist University. His current line of research addresses continuous audit and the
detection of earnings manipulation.
Dr. Nigrini presented on the topic of using
Benford's Law in Fraud Investigations.
His presentation was extremely well received as many of the attendees
were not aware of Benford's Law's capabilities.
Speaker (Day Two): Don Rabon is a Criminal Justice
Training Manager and Trainer, with the Department of Justice for the state of
North Carolina. Mr. Rabon presented on
the topic of detecting deception during fraud investigation interviews. His presentation was overwhelmingly found to
be positive by the attendees. His unique
style and mastery knowledge of the subject made for a great presentation.
Comments: Approximately 150 people attended the seminar. It was held at the MidAmerica Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The cost was $150 and 16 CPE hours were
offered. The chapter received extremely
positive feedback about the quality of each speaker and the depth of their
presentations.
