Speaker (Day One): Erik Laykin, President and founder of
Onlinesecurity.com "Information Technology Risk Management Specialists." Mr. Laykin was a pioneer of the "Internet
Investigations" for fraud. His company
specializes in investigating and preventing digital theft, cyber-terrorism,
trademark infringement, online piracy, cyber squatting, corporate espionage,
and computer forensic measures. He
frequently appears on CNN, FOX, ABC, NBC, STARTV, and CBS. During his presentation attendees will
learn:

Speaker (Day Two): Thomas Buckhoff, PhD, CFE, CPA is the EideBailly
Professor of Forensic Accounting at North Dakota State University located in
Fargo. He received his B.S. and Masters
of Accounting from BYU and his PhD from the University of Kentucky. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate
courses in forensic accounting, fraud investigation, financial accounting, and
cost management systems. Dr. Buckhoff,
actively serves the ACFE as Chair of the Higher Education Committee and as a
member of the Research Committee.
During his presentation attendees will learn:

Differentiate asset theft fraud from financial statement fraud

Conducting financial statement fraud investigations

Conducting asset-theft fraud investigations

Comments: Approximately 80 people attended the seminar. It was held at the Crystal Room in the Mutual of Omaha Building
in Omaha, Nebraska. The cost was $125
for both days and 14 CPE hours were offered.
The Omaha World-Herald had a reporter at the seminar and a story
followed in the next day's newspaper.
